Cooling Tower
A cooling tower is a heat rejection device used to transfer excess heat from industrial processes or HVAC systems into the atmosphere. It is commonly used in power plants, chemical plants, refineries, and large commercial buildings to cool circulating water that has absorbed heat.
Basic Description:
A cooling tower works by allowing hot water from a process to be exposed to cooler air. Through evaporation or heat exchange, the heat from the water is transferred to the air, and the cooled water is then recirculated back into the system.

Types of Cooling Towers:
1. Natural Draft Cooling Towers:
Use the natural convection of air to cool water.
Typically large and used in power plants.
No fans required.
2. Mechanical Draft Cooling Towers:
Use fans to force or draw air through the tower.
More compact and efficient.
Types include:
3. Crossflow vs. Counterflow:
Crossflow: Air flows horizontally across the falling water.
Counterflow: Air flows upward against the downward flow of water.
5. Feutures:
Body – FRP
Fan – Aluminium/FRP
Motor – Oswal, Kishan
